Special Olympic Advertising

Walt: Create an advertisement persuading people to go to the Special Olympics here in Palmerston North. I used M.S Publisher to create this poster. To make my poster stand out and grab the readers attention I used bright colours and pictures. I found getting the right colour scheme a challenge because the words and pictures would keep blending in with the colours. Something I enjoyed was seeing the finished product because It looked so good. Something interesting I learnt about advertising was you need to attract the reader otherwise the will not want to do what your advertising.

My Special Olympics movie

Walt:follow an inquiry process and present our inquiry learning about the Special Olympics using MS movie maker. Before making this movie, I looked over the feedback I received last term for my movie on china. Some of the things I took into consideration and tried to improve on when making this movie were: speaking load and clear, not so many Ad's and try to not have the wind in the background. Something interesting I have learnt about the Special Olympics during this inquiry is that the special athletes are caperbel of doing the same things as us but in a different way. A challenge I have found hard in this inquiry was editing the movie because it keeped deleting our work. I overcame this challenge by showing perserverence and self-control by not giveing up and finaly completing it.

My Chinese Movie

WALT: Follow an inquiry process.

This term we have been learning about China, we have continued building on the inquiry skills we have learnt in term 2. We brainstormed open questions as a class and then delegated these out to pairs.The part of China Olivia and I were finding out more about was China's Work.
We found our information on the Internet and from books. We used a data chart to make sure we triangulated all our information so we knew it was true. We then used Movie Maker to present our inquiry.Something I enjoyed wasuseing windows movie maker to create our movie. An interesting fact I found out was that the Chinese working factories are not always nice to work in. My next learning step in inquiry is to geet more information and publish it better.

WALT: Find out more about China to help us in our dance performance. Last week Cindy dad came to share with us all about chinese tradition and how to write in chinese. He gave us moon cake because it is a very traditinal food of the chinese diet.
